Welcome to the Very First Dawson's Creek Valentine's Fanfiction Contest. The amount of turnout will determine if we have any more contests this year. Here are just a few facts. This contest is sponsored by the Dawson's Creek Fanfiction Center, and includes judges from other Dawson's Creek pages (For links to their pages, skip down to the part about judges.) If you want to link the contest on your page, write me for the banner codes. A large banner and a small button are available.

Prize: This depends on availability of things. If it comes in on time, the prize will be the Official Dawson's Creek Postcard book
ALL STORIES MUST TAKE PLACE DURING VALENTINE'S DAY.
To keep people from getting upset, there are 4 judges, 2 DJ fans, 2 PJ fans. I was going to get them from all the possible groups, but we only needed a few judges. Our judges all agree to be unbiased in voting. Do NOT get upset because I don't have a Joey/Jack fan, etc. We're not voting on pairings, we're voting on the story. If any of the judges get any nasty letters about that, the person who wrote them will be disqualified from entering. I won't tolerate it. The judges are all nice people, so be nice to them.

Stories will be judged on a number of factors, including creativity, plot, and grammar (not a big factor).
It's a well known fact that stories that stand out are remembered more, especially when it comes to judging time. Want us to notice your story more? Set it apart from the others. Make it different. You have a month and a half to work on it, do the best you can.
Here are just a couple ideas. You don't have to use them, but maybe they can give you ideas.
1. Anderson sails back into town. (Note: Want to make a different twist? You could have him go after someone other than Joey. Maybe he challenges Andie and Pacey's relationship)
2. Grams tells Jen about her first Valentine's with Gramps.
3. The Valentine's Dance at school ends in odd coupling.
4. Jen receives a mysterious Secret Admirer note for Valentine's.
Do anything you want, as long as it's about Valentine's Day.
